Who is Cairn Bureau's work suited for?
We work primarily with small and mid-sized organisations in Malaysia — particularly those with a defined leadership group facing a strategic or operating question they have not yet fully framed. We are not the right fit for very early-stage ventures without an operating history, or for organisations looking for implementation support rather than strategic clarity.
How long does a Strategic Trail Map engagement take?
From first conversation to delivery of the written map, most engagements run three to five weeks. The bulk of that time goes into the landscape review and structured interviews. The client working session typically takes place in the final week, followed by the written deliverable within five business days.
What is included in the written session record from a Half-Day Working Session?
The written record covers the key points raised during each structured turn, working agreements the group reached, and threads identified as unresolved that warrant a follow-up conversation. It is not a transcript. It is a working document intended to be used in the next planning conversation, not filed.
Can we begin with a Half-Day Session before committing to the Quarterly Trail Companion?
Yes. Many organisations use a single Half-Day Working Session to evaluate whether the Quarterly Trail Companion would suit their review cycle. The session price is not credited against a subsequent subscription, but it does give both parties a useful reference point for whether the working relationship is a productive one.
Are your fees all-inclusive or are there additional costs?
The stated fees cover our preparation, the working session or review, and the written output. Travel outside of Petaling Jaya and the Klang Valley may involve a modest additional charge. We confirm all costs in writing before any work begins.
How do you handle confidential information shared during engagements?
Information shared in the course of an engagement is treated as confidential. We sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before substantive work begins on any Trail Map or Quarterly Companion engagement. We do not share client details, sector findings, or session content with other clients or external parties.
